Last month, Isabel Manns showed her AW20 collection with Fashion Scout in a presentation that showcased her latest clothes designs whilst also drawing attention to what is most important to her brand: sustainability.

The collection comprised of Isabel’s signature reversible clothing, with the timeless shapes of previous collections being elevated by silk shirts, velvet palazzo pants and wool jackets. These luxurious iterations of classic shapes and designs make the collection perfect for all body shapes and sizes. Inspired by the awe inducting rocks in the Costa Brava region in Northern Catalonia, Isabel turned paintings into digital prints that have been used throughout the collection. “I’ve always gone with my first initial wave of inspiration when I am coming up with my print designs”, said Isabel. The colours used throughout the collection mirror this inspiration with earthy, organic tones that represent nature being used alongside pops of bright colours – the Isabel Manns signature vibrancy.

Of course, the main feature of the collection is the reversible aspect of the clothes. With one side of the material plain and one side patterned, Isabel ensures you get two looks for the price of one with every item in her collection. By doing this, Isabel not only shows that she is aware of consumer habits, but that she knows what the future of sustainable fashion looks like: well made, reversible items that provide a multitude of combination possibilities with only a few different pieces. By using high quality fabrics, too (such as luxurious silk satin, recycled wool and sustainably made viscose), Isabel ensures that her clothes will be with you for life.

Always one to make a statement, Isabel’s collection took place around her very own ‘waste tree’ – a tree made of all the material waste that had been produced during the creation of the collection. “I came up with the idea when I first launched my brand, we hung the sculpture from the ceiling, so it took centre stage in the shop” said Isabel. “People loved seeing what leftover fabric we had from creating a collection. I think it is important to be as transparent as you can about the process of making clothes”.

The sign of a successful collection is a beautiful presentation. The sign of a successful fashion brand, however, is the sight of a small waste tree. Luckily, Isabel has achieved both.
